A Message from Keith

Dear friends, neighbors, and investors,

As we move swiftly through another United Way campaign I want to thank you in advance for what you are doing.  Year after year, your support for the programs and services desperately needed by so many in our community has set the bar for what a caring community is all about.

This year’s campaign faces growing challenges. The economic struggles of the last couple of years have left many in our community, many of our friends and neighbors, facing challenges they never expected.  Faithful United Way supporters have found themselves now in need of the programs and services their contributions once provided.

I’ve been doing this work in our community for many years, and one thing has always proven true – Findlay and Hancock County residents do not back away from tough challenges.  When it comes to supporting the community, you continue to step up. I am confident this year will be the same.  I am confident that you will see the need and you will step up to the challenge.  After all, that’s what makes our community such a great place to live, work, and play. Again, thank you for your commitment and compassion. You are what “LIVE UNITED” is all about.

Regards,

Keith DuVernay

Our Work

Our mission is to measurably improve people's lives in Hancock County.

Everyone deserves opportunities to have a good life: a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health. That's why United Way's work is focused on the building blocks for a good life:

Education - Helping Children and Youth Achieve Their Potential
Income - Promoting Financial Stability and Independence
Health - Improving People's Health

Advancing the common good is less about helping one person at a time and more about changing systems to help all of us. We are all connected and interdependent. We all win when a child succeeds in school, when families are financially stable, when people are healthy. Our goal is to create long-lasting changes by addressing the underlying causes of social problems.  Living united means being a part of the change. It takes a community working together to create a brighter future.
